The entire month of July was truly amazing!
It was great getting to see friends & family - and everything from the last 3 postings - just Wow!
Even after we disembarked from the Queen Mary 2 - our little adventure was not over yet...
We stayed a night in London, got to see our friend Stephen (there on business), see the London version of Wicked and take a great ride on the London Eye!
Tom made reservations for us to stay at
45 Park Lane a Dorchester Hotel.
It's is hard to describe how amazing this hotel is! We were upgraded to an amazing room with a fantastic view of London!

After this wonderful ride we walked along the Thames and back to the hotel for a bite to eat and a nap before our show that night. Tom had a Roast Beef Sandwich with a Coke Light and I have a Delicious Burger with an Iced Tea...or so I thought! After the food arrived I noticed that my Iced Teas did not look normal...I was right...the Hotel delivered me 2 Long Island Iced Teas! As not to be rude - I finished them. After my Long Island Iced Tea Nap - we got ready to meet up with Stephen again, see a show and have dinner!

All-in-all we had a fantastic time and did a lot for only being in London for 24 hours!
The very next day we woke up, went to the airport and headed back to Switzerland!
4 days later our first week-long guests arrived for their stay at the Barrington Resort & Spa Switzerland!
Angi and Rob (the Pannell's) are friends from Richmond, great people to adventure with and fun guests...
We would like to thank them for their kindness and friendship!
I will just give a highlight of their stay with us. Most of our adventures were posted of Facebook and can be seen on my account there... This was Rob's first trip to Europe...so we were lucky enough to visit 3 countries (Switzerland, Italy and France). He actually visited 4 - if you include their side trip to London England (without Tom & I).
Out Itinerary was simple:
- They arrived on the weekend so we took a trip up to the Gruyere region to have some lovely cheese, wine and Sci-fi!
- During the week we went to:
- Aosta, Italy - a drive through the Saint Bernard Tunnel to a cute little Italian town in the northern region. A little taste of Italy close to home!
- Anncey France - a medieval French town about an hour away from Lausanne. A Venice-like town but with regular roads too. Colorful buildings and amazing seafood!
- Lausanne, Switzerland - a run around the town in which we live. With a lovely dinner cruise on the Lake.
- Montreux, Switzerland - a 30 minute drive around Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) to the home of the Montreux Jazz Festival and adopted city of Freddie Mercury (lead singer of Queen)
Now I will let you see some of the photos from our travels!

Just a great visit with lots of fun destinations and wonderful times with fantastic people!
Ok, I think I am now caught up on everything. On the home front, I can't say we are getting back to normal because tomorrow we leave for Symi Greece with James, Greg and Diane Seed! A week of relaxation and good eats on a small Greek Island off of Rhodes! After we return from that, I just found out, Tom has a business trip to Istanbul and I am going along! A wonderful 4 days in Turkey with my honey!
I did start back at my pottery class. I have finished a few bowls and have just started on making some appetizer plates... It should be a lot of fun to make something we are going to use when guests visit...take a look!

My first two bowls.... |

My latest endeavor... |

...appetizer plates - stage 1! |
Well, I sure that I will have lots to share upon our return from Greece and Istanbul - so stay tuned!
Until then - we send lots of love to all our friends and family!
Ciao for now!
Ron & Tom
